Have you ever wondered what it was like for the Israelite to witness the 10 plagues?
To have seen the parting of the sea? The pillar of fire at night? The cloud by day?
Have you ever wondered what it was like to be at the foot of Mount Sinai and witness the presence of God?
Have you ever wondered what it was like to be fed manna and quail straight from God?
Have you ever wondered what it was like to see the shining face of Moses after his time in the presence of God (Exodus 7-11)?
Have you ever wondered how after witnessing such immense presence, power, and protection of God, the Israelite would disobey Him? They created idols and worshiped other gods at the foot of Mount Sinai (Exodus 32). Did they lose faith? Were they doubting, or did they get tired of waiting for Moses? They had to look upon the staff with the snake to be healed.
Have you ever wondered what it was like to witness Christ on Earth?
Miracle after miracles, healing after healing, teaching after teaching?
Have you ever wondered what it was like to look upon that cross and see Him, beaten, suffering, and dying? To witness the One who holds all authority, lay it down and pick it back up again (John 10:18)? The One who took on our sin and its wages, death? He died an awful death on that cross, was raised from the dead, and conquered death. Giving us God's forgiveness of our sins and eternal life. Such a free gift! (Romans 6:23) Have you received this free gift of Christ?
We know that God demonstrated His love for us on the cross. Have you ever wondered why then, we doubt, question, and look to other things to satisfy us?
Have you ever wondered why we put our hope in other things, why we try to find our rest in other things?
Have you ever wondered why we idolize other things and put them before God?
When I think of how God has demonstrated His love from the garden to the wilderness to the cross, from salvation to sanctification, I wonder why I take my eyes off Him who gave it all.
Thank God for Grace.
The Grace that covered Adam and Eve in the garden after they sinned.
The Grace of God that took on human flesh and lived among His creation.
The Grace of God that took on the Wrath that we deserve.
His abounding Grace gives us life and life eternal.
I am thankful for God’s grace that covers us all. A Grace that is full of mercy and compassion.I am thankful for that covering in the garden and Christ's blood that washes me clean of my sins. Forever!
Beloved sisters “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations” Psalms 100: 4-5.
With His Joy and Love
