How do you feel about it? You may be looking forward with excitement to what this year may hold. For others, it could be just the calendar turning another page. Another day that continues the trials of the previous one. If you find yourself there, overwhelmed and anxious with what this year may have in store for you, I hope this encourages you.

 I am reminded of Matthew 6:34, “so do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. The thing is, we can get so overwhelmed by our problems and believe that there is no end in sight that we forget that our HOPE is in the Lord. What if INSTEAD of being overwhelmed with the troubles in our lives that each day may hold, we are overwhelmed with the goodness of our Lord. For our Lord is good, His mercies are new each day. He is the Author, the Perfecter, and the Giver. His lovingkindness never departs from us. He has the victory over death, and His Light pierced through the darkness.  He bought the forgiveness of our sin on the cross with His blood, and through Him, we have salvation and eternal life. 

Wow! What a mighty God we serve.

Lord, I am overwhelmed by your goodness to us. Help us to walk in faith and trust in who You say You are. Help us to be overwhelmed with Your love, faithfulness, and goodness. To be bathed in Your joy and peace because Your Spirit dwells in us. Help us to trust you with whatever comes to us this year. Though the years change and the days come and go, you remain the same, full of grace, truth, and mercy.  So be it, Lord!
